Karnataka power tussle: Will BS Yeddyurappa prove majority?

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddurappa will have to prove his majority in the assembly in a floor test by 4 pm Saturday.

Ruling on a petition filed by the Congress challenging the appointment of BS Yeddyurappa as Karnataka chief minister, the Supreme Court also laid down the rules for the floor test.

The Court turned down attorney general's request for a secret ballot. The Yeddyurappa government has been stopped from nominating an Anglo-Indian community member as MLA. Justice AK Sikri has also barred the CM from taking any policy decisions.
