Controversy over Padma Shri award to Adnan Sami

Ever since Adnan Sami was named as one of the Padma Shri awardees this year, the singer has been receiving mixed reactions on Twitter. While a few congratulated him for the award, many have criticised the ruling BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) government for the same, including the primary Opposition of the country, the Indian National Congress.
