Labour law reforms: Bold step or big betrayal?

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government issued an ordinance on Thursday exempting existing and new industries from the purview of all but three labour laws for the next upcoming 1,000 days. According to the new ordinance, the working hours may increase beyond eight hours for the workers in factories and industries.
