As opposition parties try forge alliance for the battle for 2024, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge asserted that a coalition government led by the grand old party will form the next government at the Centre. Meanwhile, amid opposition unity talks, Rahul Gandhi attacked the TMC alleging it was fighting elections in Meghalaya to ensure the BJP comes to power in the state, drawing a sharp reaction from TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, who said the "irrelevance and incompetence" of the Congress had put them in a state of delirium.
