The Twitter versus the Modi govt showdown over the new IT rules has escalated. A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court today against Twitter for failing to comply with Centre's IT Rules.

The plea stated that the Information Technology Rules came into effect from February 25 and the Centre had given three months to every social media intermediary, including Twitter, to comply with them.

Meanwhile, the Centre said that Twitter has refused to comply with new digital rules.
