AI will be democratised, it will be in every device: Cristiano Amon to India Today

Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, spoke to India Today at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, expressing strong optimism about India's role in the AI revolution. He stated, "AI will be democratised, AI will be everywhere in every device."  He emphasised that AI models will run on smartphones, PCs, cars, and new device categories. Amon predicted smart glasses will become a breakthrough AI device because they are 'very close to our senses, to our eyes, to our mouth, to our ears.' He highlighted Qualcomm's work with Indian companies building AI-enabled smart glasses. On 6G, Amon said the network 'is going to be a sensing network' that will detect locations, manage traffic, and transform the telecom sector. He advised India to stay committed to long-term, decade-long technology projects to become a global player in the technology landscape.
