Overnight strikes allegedly carried out by Pakistan targeted a rehabilitation centre in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, killing more than 400 people and injuring over 250, according to Afghan officials. Authorities condemned the attack on the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital, calling it a brutal strike on civilians. Pakistan rejected the allegations, saying its military conducted precise operations against militant and military targets. India also criticised the incident as tensions remain high across the region.
Separately, a ground investigation in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, exposed caste-based discrimination, including the "two tumbler system" in tea shops and restrictions affecting Dalit communities’ access to transport and businesses.
