Gangster Vikas Dubey killed in encounter | How it happened

Vikas Dubey has been killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur. The encounter broke out after a police vehicle carrying Vikas Dubey from Ujjain to Kanpur met with an accident and the gangster attempted to escape. Vikas Dubey snatched a police weapon and tried to escape but was surrounded, police said.

Vikas Dubey suffered a few bullets shots in the retaliatory fire after police asked him to surrender and he did not. Vikas Dubey was taken to a Kanpur hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the ambush and the killing of eight police personnel, was on the run since the July 3 Kanpur encounter. The gangster was arrested from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday after a seven-day hunt. He was being brought to Kanpur from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning when the encounter erupted.
