India gears up for grand Republic Day parade, nation to witness several firsts

India celebrates its 73rd Republic Day today with the annual parade at Delhi's Rajpath showcasing its military might and cultural heritage. In an official statement, the Defence Ministry informed that the nation is set to witness several firsts that have been planned during the main parade, including the launch of ‘Shaheedon Ko Shat Shat Naman’ programme by National Cadet Corps, a grand flypast by 75 aircraft/helicopters of the Indian Air Force, cultural performances by 480 dancers, display of ten scrolls each of 75 metres prepared during the `Kala Kumbh` event.
