The opposition has demanded a re-examination of the three new criminal laws saying that they were passed "forcibly" after suspending 146 MPs in the last Lok Sabha, and asserted that the INDIA bloc will not allow such "bulldozer justice" to prevail in the country's parliamentary system. The three new criminal laws came into effect in the country on Monday, bringing far-reaching changes in India's criminal justice system. In other news, new Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi said on Monday took charge after receiving a guard of honour. Addressing the media after the guard of honour, he said, "I am fully conscious of the responsibility assigned to me and I assure the country and fellow citizens that the Indian Army is fully capable and ready to face all current and future challenges."
