Mayawati brings back Jai Shri Ram debate, says take action against those forcing people to chant religious slogans

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati brought the 'Jai Shri Ram' debate back on Monday by alleging that a 'wrong practice' of forcing people to chant religious slogans has commenced in Uttar Pradesh.

Her comments came after a cleric reportedly said he was forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'.

Taking the matter on Twitter, she said, "In some states, including Uttar Pradesh, a wrong practice of forcing people to chant religious slogans and committing atrocities has begun, and it should be condemned."
