Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine safe and 95% effective, Delhi records highest single-day Covid death count 

The coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer has shown 95 per cent efficacy in the late-stage trial, the company said on Wednesday. The drugmaker said the efficacy of the vaccine developed with German partner BioNTech SE was consistent across age and ethnicity demographics, and that there were no major side effects, a sign that the immunization could be employed broadly around the world. Delhi recorded 7,486 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the infection tally in the city to over five lakh, while 131 new fatalities, the highest single-day death count till date, pushed the toll to 7,943, authorities said.
