Explainer: Decoding India-China standoff

China has found itself isolated during the standoff particularly after the Galwan incident, in which 20 Indian soldiers died in a while being on duty in eastern Ladakh.

China also admitted to casualties on its side but without declaring the number of dead and injured soldiers. Following the June 15 deadly clash, India and China have had a fluctuating relationship, from banning Chinese apps to disengagement talks.
