Isro on Monday successfully launched its first X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite, providing valuable insights into celestial objects such as black holes. Speaking about the same, Isro chief S Somanath said that the mission would provide a deeper understanding of black holes, adding that it was going to be "an exciting time ahead".
The spacecraft is equipped with two scientific payloads, POLIX and XSPECT, which will operate in low Earth orbit. These instruments are designed to provide new insights into the emission mechanisms of various celestial bodies, including black holes, neutron stars, and active galactic nuclei.
