People worldwide witnessed an unprecedented spectacle as auroras illuminated various locations simultaneously for the first time.

Earth endured seven solar storms over the weekend, triggering dazzling auroras in multiple regions. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a rare warning of a severe geomagnetic storm when a solar eruption reached Earth unexpectedly early on Friday.

Since Wednesday, the sun has unleashed powerful solar flares, resulting in at least seven plasma outbursts, known as coronal mass ejections. These eruptions release billions of tons of plasma and magnetic fields from the sun's outer atmosphere. Solar storms, disturbances on the Sun, release energy in the form of solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), or solar wind, which, upon reaching Earth, interact with the planet's magnetic field, potentially causing geomagnetic storms.
