Tianwen-1: All you need to know about China's first spacecraft on Mars

Launched from southern China in July 2020, the Chinese Tianwen-1 mission is entering a crucial phase in its Martian odyssey.

After a successful orbit around the Red Planet in February 2021 with a journey of 475 million km, the Chinese lander and it’s remote-controlled rover will soon be ready for action.

Scientists from China’s space agency CNSA are targeting the Utopia plain as a landing site.

The rover weighs 240 kg and is equipped with 4 solar panels and 6 wheels.
