Neeraj Chopra has questioned the officials in Hangzhou for the controversy at the start of the men's javelin final. His first throw was not recorded and he had to retake it. Meanwhile, he also expressed delight for Kishore Jena's Olympic qualficiation and silver medal.
"I was thinking of 90m, but what to do! There was a lot of trouble with my first throw, I had a lot of arguments with the officials as well. Then my first throw that was recorded was not great. No problem. I am happy that I won a medal for my country. 88.88m is a good throw. And, I am very happy for Kishore Jena today. He was leading, he was throwing very well. I am enjoying the competition. He has also qualified for the Olympics. I was very happy. We were pushing each other.
"It happens all the time (what did you think when Jena took the lead?). Even in Diamond Leagues, the competition stretches until the 6th throw. We compete with each other. We have to just believe that we are in it till the last throw. I have the experience, but in the end, Kishore Jena made it a lot more enjoyable. I am very happy for him," he added.
India have broken their medal record at the Asian Games. They currently stand at the 4th position with 81 medals to their name.
The Indian 4x400m men's relay team dominate the race to win gold. This takes India's medal tally to 79 with a national record-shattering run.
India have clinched a historic 1-2 in the Asian Games after Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena finished at Gold and Silver position respectively.
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal with a season best throw of 88.88m while Kishore Jena clinched silver with a personal best of 87.54m.

India's Avinash Sable wins silver in men's 5000m race. This is Sable's second medal at the event after 3000m steeplechase gold. India's Gulveer Singh finishes 4th in the race.

What a run from Harmilan Bains. She wins silver in the women's 800m final. It's her second medal at the Asian Games after the 1500m silver. The 25-year-old is making a name for herself in track.
She takes silver with 2:03.75s while Sri Lanka's MUDIYANSELAGE Tharushi wins Gold.
Has Neeraj Chopra been robbed off 3-4 meters? Well, he threw in excess of 85m in his first attempt but the scoring card did not work due to technical issues. He had to take the throw again and it reads 82.38m. Neeraj was not happy with that effort.
Meanwhile, Kishore Jena of India starts off with a throw of 81.26m.
Sunil Kumar gets the 75th medal for India at the Asian Games. The Indian wrestler has won the men's Greco roman 87kg category bronze.
He defeated Atabek of Kyrgyzstan 2-1 to clinch a victory via points.
Anil Sarvesh of India is keeping up with the top. He clears 2.19m in his first attempt. Meanwhile, Jesse Sandesh was not able to clear 2.15m in his first attempt.
Meanwhile, India's high jump star Tejaswin Shankar is cheering on the Indian athletes after winning silver in decathlon.

The most-anticipated event for the Indian contingent , Neeraj Chopra's men's javelin final is here. Neeraj, the Olympic and the world champion is favourite to defend his Gold medal. He doesn't have his biggest rival, Arshad Nadeem as the Pakistan star, who won silver at the worlds, has pulled out due to an injury.

Kidambi Srikanth has been ousted. The former World No. 1 has been knocked out. He loses in straight games in the Round of 16 of men's singles 16-21, 17-21 to Kodai Naroka.
37-year-old Saurav Ghosal storms into the final of men's singles event after defeating Hong Kong's Leung Chin Henry in straight games.
Ghosal wins 11-1, 11-2, 11-6 to reach the final.
Kidambi Srikanth is off to a slow start in the men's Round of 16. Srikanth has lost his first game against Japanese world No. 3 Kodai Naraoka. Srikanth loses the first game 21-16.
Saurav Ghosal is playing Hong Kong's Chi Hin Henry in the semi-final of the men's singles event. Ghosal has won the first game and has taken a 1-0 lead in the event.
India have reached the final of the Asian Games 2023 after defeating Korea in a 5-3 thriller. India held the Korean side despite things getting a little nervy at the end.
A comprehensive win for India women against Thailand. After the men's team beat Thailand in the morning, the women have beaten them 54-22.
And India remain on top of the Group A table with 2 wins in 3 matches.
And with that the women's team is through to the semi-final, assured of a medal.
A late break in the final quarter and India have scored their 5th goal. Abhishek with a stunning reverse flick from the edge of the D and India are looking good to make it to the final of the event.
Bangladesh beat Malaysia by 2 runs and made their way through to the quarterfinal. Malaysia almost pulled off a massive upset in Hangzhou before getting beaten.
Going into the final quarter of the men's semi-final event India are narrowly ahead of Korea, leading 4-3. India went defensive in the third quarter and that resulted in conceding one goal. Korea's Jung Manjee has scored a hat-trick already and India will have to defend better against him.
A poor defence from India in their penalty corner and Korea have scored. It is getting tight going into the final quarter of the match and as Korea aim to stage a comeback.

India will be playing Bangladesh in the men's cricket semi-final on October 6. Bangladesh narrowly defeated Malaysia to reach the semis of the tournament.
Korea have come back with 2 goals of their own in the second quarter, but India have added a fourth goal in the second quarter.
It is 4-2 to India at half time and things are spicing up in the semi-final of the men's hockey event.
Lalit scores India's 3rd goal in as early as the 15th minute of the first quarter against South Korea in the men's hockey semi-finals.

Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh won the bronze medal in the squash mixed doubles after losing 11-8, 2-11, 9-11 to Malaysia.
India beat Nepal (25-23, 26-28, 25-23, 25-17) in a Group G classification match of women's voleyball.
After a challenging start with a 7-11 loss in the opening game, the Indian duo consisting of Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu managed to turn the tables in the second game, securing an 11-7 victory against Hong Kong's Lee Ka Yi and Wong Chi Him in the mixed doubles semifinals.
In a crucial moment, Dipika delivered a winning shot, granting the Indians a match point at 10-9. Wong's inability to retrieve the shot sealed the victory for Dipika and Harinder, with a final score of 2-1 (7-11, 11-7, 11-9), propelling them into the final round.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale are through to the semi-finals of the Compound Mixed Team event in Archery after beating Malaysia's Binti Mat Salleh Fatin Nurfatehah and Bin Muzuki Mohd Juwaidi 158-155.
The semi-final is scheduled to take place at 7:30 AM IST.

India's long distance runner Parul Chaudhary clinched her second medal in the Asian Games 2023 on Tuesday, 3 October. Chaudhary put in an incredible performance to win gold in the women's 5000m final in Hangzhou, China.
She ran in the fourth spot for the majority part of the 10-lap race. Chaudhary put in the effort with three laps to go, accelerating ahead of the group of athletes and matching the pace of Japan's Ririka Hironaka who had been running first from the start.
Parul trailed Ririka till the final 50 meters of the race before putting in the after-burners. Ririka, who was losing her stamina in the final leg of the race expected a late move from Parul on the outside lane. Parul sold her the dummy and put in an incredible late acceleration to finish first in the race.
The Indian contingent in athletics were the stars of the show as Parul Chaudhary and Annu Rani claimed gold medals in the 5000m women's final and women's Javelin on Tuesday, October 2. The Indian cricket team entered the semi-finals while the women's hockey team dominated Hong Kong China to make it to the final four.
