We made too many mistakes - India's skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur admits that they did not play good cricket in this series. She mentions that the team did a lot of things right in the T20 format, but adds that ODIs are a different challenge altogether. Kaur explains that the 50-over format is a long game where you have to keep doing the right things again and again, and feels that her side made too many mistakes. She gives credit to Australia for the way they played. Kaur adds that there are plenty of learnings for her side. With limited preparation time for the one-off Test, she emphasises the need to believe in themselves.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Australia's captain, Alyssa Healy wins the award for her scintillating 158 off 98 balls. She starts by joking that bowling two overs was better than batting today. Adds that there are many days when you are down but cricket gives you opportunities like today, and it was a nice way to sign off. Mentions that Georgia Voll played well, Beth Mooney was outstanding too, the future looks bright for Australia Women. Tells that it was a special experience for Lucy Hamilton to debut for Australia and hopes she has a wonderful career. Reckons that they have put themselves in a good position in the series, and they are going into the Test match to win.

Healy headlined a ruthless rout - After Harmanpreet Kaur won her sixth toss in as many games in the series, India were sent on a leather hunt. They were made to look listless, operating with just five bowling options on the day. Alyssa Healy stood at the forefront of Australia's batting dominance, producing a superlative 158 in her final ODI appearance. There were century partnerships along the way, first with Georgia Voll and then with Beth Mooney. Mooney went on to bring up a hundred of her own, and with Nicola Carey providing late fireworks, the home side reached 409, their 3rd highest total in Women's ODIs.

A mountain too high for India - It was always going to be a mountain to climb, and the first ten overs were as good as it got for India in the chase. They did lose Smriti Mandhana early, but Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues got them off to a brisk start. Rodrigues, in particular, looked busy from the outset, but all the momentum fizzled out after her departure. Alyssa Healy had the luxury of multiple bowling options to turn to and even brought herself on later in the innings. Alana King then weaved her magic through the middle phase, effectively sealing the fate of the game and finishing with four wickets on the night. Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana offered stubborn resistance and were more than happy to bide their time. For what it was worth, their partnership helped India avoid their heaviest defeat in terms of runs in ODIs, which stands at 221 runs, also against Australia, and delayed the inevitable.

Australia complete a clean sweep - A thoroughly dominant performance, and it has come in Alyssa Healy's final ODI appearance, which makes it even more special. The women in green and gold have reasserted their dominance in ODIs at home in emphatic fashion. With this 3-0 sweep, Australia have retained the trophy, having taken an unassailable 8-4 lead in the multi-format series. India had no answers to what Australia put in front of them across the three ODIs, and the fight or lack of it will be a concern for the ODI champions.

Can India chase it down? For India, it was a day of being completely outclassed. They did make a slight comeback in the final moments of the innings, but it was nullified by a 22-run penultimate over from Sree Charani. India already looked tired, and their shoulders were drooping. Smriti Mandhana was having a back message in the middle of an over, indicating she was in some pain. A fitting farewell -  Once the spinners were introduced, the narrative remained unchanged. There was no respite, no tightening of the screws, only an Australian side intent on destruction. Alyssa Healy and Georgia Voll laid the foundation with a blistering 104-run partnership, and even after Voll departed, India’s misery only compounded. Beth Mooney strode to the crease to join an already set Healy, and together, they dismantled the bowling attack with chilling efficiency, piling on 145 runs in just 92 deliveries.

Healy's final bow - It began with a moment of pure class. The Indian side formed a corridor of respect, a guard of honour for a woman who has defined an era. But once the pleasantries ended and the first ball was delivered, the sentimentality was packed away. Alyssa Healy didn’t just walk out to play an innings, she walked out to put on a masterclass.  The new-ball pairing of Renuka Singh Thakur and Kashvee Gautam struggled to find their rhythm, failing to extract the swing they desperately needed. Australia sensed that fragility immediately, capitalising on the lack of movement to plunder 69 runs in the Powerplay alone. It set the tone for a brutal onslaught.

We have witnessed something special. A Sunday to remember, and a farewell for the ages at the Bellerive Oval. It was a day when Harmanpreet Kaur’s luck began and ended with the toss of a coin. It was a day when all eyes were on Alyssa Healy, and her last ODI appearance at the Bellerive Oval was nothing short of legendary. However, Beth Mooney's innings was overshadowed by Alyssa Healy's early knock, which was of equal importance as Australia fell off track in the fag end, only for Mooney to score a wonderful century and get the total over 400.

Debut for a 19-year-old - Australia's skipper, Alyssa Healy informs that Lucy Hamilton is making her debut today, and she wants the game to be more about the debutant. Feels it is a nice little glimpse into Australia’s future. She further says that Georgia Wareham also comes into the side. Healy shares that it has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Hamilton, and she is eager to see what she can produce. Mentions that she has thoroughly enjoyed representing Australia and adds that she will be able to reflect more properly on her career next week.
