India have handed a mega defeat to Pakistan in Colombo on Monday, 11 September. India dominated throughout the Reserve Day - first with the bat and then with the ball to clinch a 228-run victory.

India have dominated with the ball after the resumption of play at Colombo. Pakistan have had no answers for India's pace and spin attack and have already lost 4 wickets in 20 overs. 

India will be happy with their body language in the field, where the side has bowled with energy and fielded well in the outfield.

The match is set to resume at 9:20 PM. The rain is playing hide and seek at the moment, but as of now, no overs have been lost.

The covers are coming off once again after they were briefly brought on.

There is a fresh update from Colombo. Another inspection has been scheduled at 4:20 pm IST. 

Umpires are walking out in the middle and they have had a look at the conditions. The umpires also had a chat with Rahul Dravid. It seems Virat Kohli has walked out to the field to get some throwdowns. A few Pakistan players are also in the middle. 

Good news is that the rain has stopped and the ground, which was placed under the covers, looks dry.

It seems like rain has returned in Colombo with some of the fans near the stadium tweeting about it.

Rain disrupted the high-octane Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan for the second weekend in a row, after 112 minutes of intense action. However, unlike last Saturday in Pallekele, the teams will resume the Super 4 match on Monday, with India on 147 for two in 24.1 overs. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who was drafted in only because Shreyas Iyer hurt his back minutes before the toss, will resume India's quest on Monday afternoon at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
 

Virat Kohli is only 90 runs away from reaching 13,000 ODI runs and will become the fastest to complete the feat by some distance. Kohli is currently playing his 267th ODI innings, while Sachin Tendulkar is the fastest to 13,000 runs, having done so in 321 innings. 

He will also be the fifth batter in history to reach that milestone, following Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Kumar Sangakkara. Kohli has the highest average among the top ten ODI run scorers of all time. Sachin Tendulkar has the second-highest average in that club, after Kohli, with 44.83 in 463 matches.

Pakistan legend Wasim Akram has provided us with an update on the weather conditions in Colombo. The legendary pacer is hoping, like everyone, that the game will go ahead.

Although there is no chance of rain until 4 p.m., the situation looks bleak after that. With humidity expected to exceed 90%, there is a greater chance of rain than on Sunday. India will resume their innings at 147/2 in 24.1 overs and will have to settle for a point if rain forces a washout on the reserve day too. This means that India will have to defeat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in order to advance to the final. The former has already secured a victory, as has Pakistan. If India's match against Sri Lanka is also rained out, they will be in a precarious position and will require assistance from other matches.

Sports Tak's managing editor, Vikrant Gupta, is reporting that while the sun is out in Colombo and there is no rain at the moment, it is remaining overcast.

Fans tweeted at 9:16 a.m. IST that the rain had finally stopped in Colombo and that the weather situation was improving. There was early morning rain in Colombo but the sun is out now. 

The Asia Cup Super 4 match between India and Pakistan has been rescheduled for the Reserve Day after being postponed to Monday due to persistent rain. What will happen if rain washes out the reserve day too? It should be noted that a minimum of 20 overs must be bowled in each of the two innings for a result to be obtained.

If the Super 4 match between the two teams on the reserve day is a washout, India and Pakistan will split the match points. With India's match against Babar and company set to be decided on a reserve day, Rohit's men will face Sri Lanka in their next Super Four match less than 24 hours after the Pakistan game concludes on Tuesday. 
 

While the reserve day provides some hope for fans for a full-fledged India vs. Pakistan match, the persistent threat of rain could disrupt the match on Monday. 

The weather forecast in Colombo for Monday looks grim. One fan on social media posted that there is no chance of playing on Monday, the reserve day for the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match between India and Pakistan. By the time the game resumes at 3 p.m. IST on Monday, there will be 99 percent cloud cover.
 

Unfortunately for cricket fans, the weather forecast for Monday in Colombo is also not promising. AccuWeather predicts cloudy skies with thunderstorms in the morning, with temperatures around 28 degrees Celsius. More thunderstorms are expected later in the afternoon. Precipitation is expected to be 97 percent likely during this time period, with cloud cover reaching 99 percent. According to the evening weather forecast in Colombo for Monday, it will be cloudy with occasional rain and a thunderstorm. Even though the cloud cover forecast is 100%, the probability of precipitation drops to 80%.
 

India have a demanding schedule due to Colombo's inclement weather, with the Rohit Sharma-led side taking the field on three consecutive days on September 10, 11, and 12. Notably, the India vs Pakistan game began on September 10 but heavy rain forced the match into reserve day i.e. September 11. 

Just 24 hours after the reserve day, India will play Sri Lanka in their second Super 4s match on September 12. Given the return of several key players from injury, India would hope to win to avoid player fatigue. Notably, individuals such as KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah are making comebacks after long periods of injury-related setbacks.
 

The reserve day was added to this crucial Super Four match last week, making it, along with the final, the only game at the Asia Cup with the option of being completed on an additional day. When play resumes at 3 p.m IST on Monday, the game will remain a 50-over affair.

However, if the game had been shortened and restarted today before the second rainstorm, the reserve day would have seen the game remain shortened. The action will resume tomorrow with the second ball of India's 25th over, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at the crease. After 24.1 overs, the men in blue had a score of 147/2. In not-so-happy news for cricket fans, there are visuals of drizzling on the morning of reserve day in Colombo. The weather forecast for Monday in Colombo is also not promising. According to the MET department, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees with a 97 percent possibility of rain. Humidity will be around 81 percent with a cloud cover of 99 percent when the match resumes at 3 pm IST on Monday afternoon. 

The highly anticipated Super Four match between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup will be extended into a second day after rain washed out the majority of play on Sunday. India had reached 147/2 from 24.1 when the heavens opened on Sunday, and no further play was possible despite the efforts of the ground staff at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
