Ahead of the Gujarat Titans clash, Rohit Sharma has returned to the nets for the Mumbai Indians after being struck by a hamstring injury. Rohit suffered the injury during the clash against RCB and underwent scans to know the extent of the issue.

Despite trying his best to shake off the issue, Rohit had to sit out the clash against Punjab Kings, with Hardik Pandya saying that the MI legend will be out for at least two games. However, in a welcome sight for the MI fans, Rohit returned to the nets on the eve of the game, putting in the hard yards inside the nets.

Rohit looked to be in fine touch, playing some of his trademark shots in the nets as he got himself ready for the match on Monday.

WILL ROHIT PLAY AGAINST GT?

Despite the positive signs being shown inside the nets, a decision on Rohit will be taken after the final practice session ahead of the game. The former Indian captain is continuing his recovery under the watchful eyes of head coach Mahela Jayawardene and the medical team.

"Rohit is batting in the nets in Ahmedabad and continues to be evaluated by the medical team and Mahela Jayawardene, Head Coach," read the statement from MI.

In Rohit's absence, MI underwent a shuffling of the pack and brought in Quinton de Kock to open the batting alongside Ryan Rickleton. De Kock made the most of the opportunity and hit 112 against PBKS.

If Rohit does return, he is expected to open alongside De Kock as Rickleton has struggled for runs in the last few games. After his 81 in the opening game, Rickleton has got scores of 9,8, 37 and 2. Rohit has scored 137 runs from four games this season.

MI need a win desperately as they're at the bottom of the table ahead of the clash after losing their last four games and having just two points.
