The display of traditional Indian values caught the presenters completely off guard. After paying his respects to the veterans, Sooryavanshi turned his head towards TV host Jatin Sapru. Fearing he was next in line for the traditional blessing, a startled Sapru hilariously jumped away from his mark to avoid letting the 15-year-old touch his feet, bringing a lighthearted, wholesome energy to an otherwise tense knockout evening.

Once the match began, however, the respect ended and the carnage started.

Sooryavanshi put on one of the most destructive batting displays in IPL history, tearing apart an SRH bowling unit that claimed to have multiple tactical plans ready for him. The left-hander hammered a breathtaking 97 runs off just 29 balls, reaching his half-century in a mere 16 deliveries.

His explosive innings was punctuated by 12 massive sixes - the most by an Indian batsman in a single IPL match. In the process, the young opener broke Chris Gayle’s long-standing 2012 record for the most sixes hit in a single IPL season. He also rewrote the record books by finishing the season with 490 powerplay runs, eclipsing David Warner’s 2016 record of 467.

SACHIN TENDULKAR REACTS TO VAIBHAV'S INNINGS

Though he fell just three runs short of the fastest century in IPL history when he top-edged a delivery in the eighth over, his performance earned ultimate praise from legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who lauded the teenager's extraordinary skill and fearlessness on the big stage.

"Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s bat swing has been outstanding. What’s even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs. This freedom allows him to play the way he does. That innings was nothing short of spectacular," Sachin said on X.

By the time Sooryavanshi walked off, he had propelled Rajasthan to a mammoth 125/1 in just eight overs, leaving SRH completely shell-shocked. RR later posted 243 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, setting a difficult target for the SRH side.

On a night defined by record-breaking boundary hitting, it was the perfect blend of modern-day power hitting and deep-rooted cultural values that truly defined the rise of India's newest cricket sensation.
