US Open Men's Singles Final Highlights: Jannik Sinner wins singles title after beating Taylor Fritz

Jannik Sinner is the champion of the US Open men's singles. On Sunday, the Italian defeated Taylor Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in 2 hours and 16 minutes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Jannik Sinner has broken back in the third set. Just when it seeemed that Taylor could have won the third set, the World No.1 has hit back. There is also a chance for the third set to go into a tie-breaker. 

Taylor Fritz is not out of gas just yet. The American has earned a crucial serve break to get his nose ahead in the third set. At 4-3, Fritz has the chance to close out the set. It's not over just yeat at the Ashe. 

Taylor Fritz has made it 2-2 in the third set, but would be hoping for a break of serve to put Jannik Sinner under some sort of pressure in the grand finale. For now, the match is heavily tilted towards Sinner. 

Jannik Sinner is only one set short of claiming the US Open men's singles title. The Italian won the second set 6-4 and is 2 sets up against Taylor Fritz, who just hasn't found his feet under pressure at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. 

Andy Roddick is watching the men's singles final carefully. Roddick remains the last American man to win the US Open title back in 2003 after beating Juan Carlos Ferrero in straight sets.

Jannik Sinner has won the opening set 6-3 against Taylor Fritz. Barring dropping his serve once in the fourth game, the World No.1 looked clinical and closed out the set in 41 minutes. 

Sinner broke his opponent's serve three times as Fritz is under pressure to stage a comeback in the second set. Fritz was let down by the 38 win percentage from his first serves. 

Jannik Sinner has taken the advantage yet again in the opening set with another break of serve. He is leading 4-3 and now has a chance to go 5-3 up. Taylor Fritz is under a bit of pressure to maintain his consistency. 

After dropping his serve early, Taylor Fritz has made it 2-2 in the first set. At 40-15, he had two break point chances, but Sinner saved both of them. Fritz, thereafter, converted the third chance that he got to break Sinner's serve.

Jannik Sinner is the World No.1 and he started like one. After fetching two break point chances in the opening game, he converted the second with a smashing overhead winner. Couldn't have expected for a better start, could he? 

Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz walk to a rousing reception on Centre Court. Fritz took the court, after which Sinner walked out. But at the end of the day, only one player will walk out as the champion. It's bright and sunny in New York for now as a close contest is anticipated. 

Taylor Swift is here as the atmosphere at the Ashe is starting to heat up for the grand finale between two of the most consistent players in the championship.

Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz have a 1-1 record on the head-to-head count. Sinner has won 4 out of the 5 sets that he has played against Fritz. Can Fritz defy the odds and take down the mighty World No.1? 

Taylor Fritz is set to take part in his maiden Grand Slam final, but the task is not going to be easy for him by any stretch of the imagination. 

But the fact that he has beaten the likes of Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev should do his confidence a world of good.

Fritz is looking to become the first American since Andy Roddick in 2003 to win the US Open men's singles title. 

World No.1 Jannik Sinner recently became the first Italian man to reach the finals of the US Open 2024. He ended Jack Draper's dream run with a straight sets win over the Briton. 

Flavia Pennetta is the only Italian with the US Open title after she beat Roberta Vinci in the all-Italian final back in 2015. 

Sinner won the Australian Open earlier this year and he will fancy his chances at Flushing Meadows as well.
