Djokovic took three hours and 11 minutes to win the match 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 on Centre Court.
Djokovic will next be up against World No.1 Jannik Sinner in the semis.
Flavio Cobolli has responded brilliantly under pressure. Facing two match points, the Italian saved both of them. Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, looked in some discomfort as he fell flat on the ground.

Sinner confirms he is not completely pain-free. He suffered a blow to his right elbow during his fourth-round match on Monday. He came out wearing an elbow sleeve.
"Yes, I mean, when youâre in a match with that much tension, you try not to think about it. Itâs actually improved a lot from yesterday to today. Yesterday was a very short day on the practice court â just 20 minutes with the coaches. But at the same time, there are no excuses. Thereâs no better stage to play tennis on. I think I showed that again today. The atmosphere helped me so much. So thank you all so much for the support," Sinner said.
SINNER ON CONTRASTING WINS
"Yes, of course, the feelings are definitely different. Iâm very, very happy with todayâs performance," Sinner said, reflecting on his win over Ben Shelton, days after surviving an upset against Grigor Dimitrov. He was trailing two sets to nil whe Dimitrov retired injured midway through their fourth-round match.
"Playing against him (Shelton) is always difficult â you get chances, but he serves very well, as we saw in the last game. Weâve played each other more often now, and weâre getting to know each other a bit better. Iâm really looking forward to these kinds of battles in the future. And playing in front of all of you makes it even more special. Itâs an honour â an amazing feeling," he said.
Novak Djokovic has given himself some relief after winning the second set against Flavio Cobolli on Centre Court.
The Serb earned a double break and didn't give his Italian opponent much of a chance.

He entered the match with concerns over his elbow, but he appeared in top form. A sensational show from the World No. 1 as he makes it to to Wimbledon semifinals for the second time.
Ben Shelton, the showman, had flair and hot serves, but he lacked consistency.
He lost the first set in a tie-breaker. He lost the second and third set after being broken towards the end.
Sinner was spotless with his serves and groundstrokes.

He will either face Djokovic or Flavio Cobolli, his compatriot, in the semifinal.
Ben Shelton looks more energised. "Leave it all out there," says his coaching team after he holds serve to make it 4-4 in the third set.
Can he avoid the mistakes of the first two sets and force a fourth set here?
He has fired 13 aces so far in this game, compared to Sinner's two. And that has kept him in the hunt till now.
Flavio Cobolli has won the opening set 7-6 (8-6) against Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.
It's the first time Cobolli has won a set against Djokovic on the ATP Tour.
Against Alex de Minaur, Djokovic came back from a set down to win the quarter-final.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion needs to pull off a similar heist today.

Flavio Cobolli has pulled off an incredible game here, breaks Djokovic to love to make it 4-5 in the opening set.

Ben Shelton had two break points, but he was not able to capitalise on them. Sinner problem solves on the go and holds the first game of the second set. His forehand has been firing well today. Shelton looked a bit disappointed, he had an opening there.
A ruthless show that from Jannik Sinner in the tie-breaker. Shelton began well with a mini-break, but faded away. A double fault in the tie-breaker is a crime in tennis and Shelton was guilty of it.
Shelton was not able to do any damage to the Sinner serve. He won only one point in Sinner's service games through the first set.
Shelton needs to keep serving at this high level if he is not able to trouble Sinner.
The World No. 1 is looking solid and showing no signs of discomfort.He picked an elbow niggle and is playing with a long sleeve wrapped around his right elbow.

Ben Shelton was the first to secure a mini-break in the tie-breaker. His court coverage has been good. But, he is in a spot of bother. He has conceded two mini-breaks after picking up one. Shelton hits a double fault in the tie-breaker.
Sinner leads 4-2. This is what champions do. You give them an inch and they will make you pay.
Top class service game from Jannik Sinner. He was under a bit of pressure when he had to serve to stay in the set. But, he serves out the game with authority. An ace to push the firset set into a tie-breaker.

Sinner has won seven tie-breakers and lost three this year.
Novak Djokovic will soon be in action on Centre Court against Flavio Cobolli, who's vying for his maiden Grand Slam semi-final berth.
The duo have faced each other only once, when Djokovic beat Cobolli 6-1, 6-1 in the Round of 32 at the Shanghai Masters.
Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner have been brilliant with their service games thus far in the opening set on Court 1. Shelton had a bit of a scare after the seventh game went into deuce, but he prevailed after Sinner made an unforced error on the net.
Belinda Bencic is through her maiden Wimbledon semi-final after beating Mirra Andreeva 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2) in the quarterfinals.
Bencic also returned to play in a Grand Slam semi-final for the first time since the US Open 2019 where Bianca Andreescu defeated her.
In the semi-final, Bencic will be up against Iga Swiatek, who defeated Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets.
Ben Shelton takes the opening game comfortably. Known for his powerful serves, the American youngster was on point in the opening game.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner appeared comfortable there. He won two points and isn't showing any sign of discomfort so far.
The second set between Mirra Andreeva and Belinda Bencic is into a tie-breaker on Centre Court.
Andreeva couldn't keep her nerves in the first set tie-break, can she in the second?
Are we in for a thrilling third setter or will Bencic finish it off in the second set itself?
Sinner's coach Darren Cahill said his ward felt fine while training on the morning of the match.
"He was good. As you saw he practiced pretty well. Normal practice for us is about an hour. It was actually a little bit longer than normal. Heâs ready to go," Cahill said.
When asked if the injury will hamper his match today, he said: "We donât know. He felt fine this morning. Weâll keep our fingers crossed. Heâs ready to go. Heâs confident. Playing well. Weâll see how it goes.â
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner is taking on 10th seed Ben Shelton. There were concerns over Sinner's fitness as he suffered an elbow injury during his match against Grigor Dimitrov. Sinner was lucky to escape a defeat as he was trailing Dimitrov two sets to love before Dimitrov retired with an injury.
He went for an MRI scan yesterday and had a very light indoor practice session. He cancelled the on-court practice session yesterday.
Sinner has walked out to the court wearing a strap around his right elbow.
He needs to be 100 percent to take on Shelton, who has a brilliant power game.

Mirra Andreeva has earned the much-needed break in the second set against Belinda Bencic, just what the doctor ordered for the 18-year-old.
But Andreeva would know that the set is far from over. We are one game away from a second tie-break of the match.

A 5-time Grand Slam champion, Iga Swiatek had struggled to do well at Wimbledon. However, after missing out on the Roland Garros title, she has reached the semi-final of Wimbledon for first time in her career.
"Yeah, for sure. Honestly, Iâve really enjoyed playing here this year, and hopefully that continues for as long as possible. Iâve worked really hard to improve on this surface, and I feel like now Iâm finally able to work with it â and with myself. Itâs truly a pleasure to play in front of you all, so thank you for the support," Iga Swiatek said after the straight set win over Liudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinal.
She will face either Mirra Andreeva or Belinda Bencic in the semifinal tomorrow.
On the prospect of playing the semi-final tomorrow: "Yeah, itâs definitely a different rhythm compared to most Grand Slams. Iâve only played with a schedule like this twice before. Iâll recover today, try not to celebrate too much, and already start focusing on the next one. Iâll prep this evening and be ready for tomorrow," she said.
After Swiatek triumphed over Samsonova, it's time for World No.1 Jannik Sinner to play on Court 1.
Sinner will lock horns with Ben Shelton of the United States in a bid to play in his second Wimbledon semi-final.
Sinner had the rub of the green going in his favour after Grigor Dimitrov retired in the quarterfinals.
