SAB TV's new sitcom Sajan Re Phir Jhoot Mat Bolo premiered on Tuesday, May 23. The show revolves around Jai (Hussain Kuwajerwala), who's multi-millionaire Paramvir Chopra's (Tiku Talsania) son but is faking to be poor and downtrodden to impress a girl in his college.

A 39-year-old Hussain fails to convince us as a college student. He is no Aamir Khan, who's capable of carrying off a Rang De Basanti at the age of 40. No, we are not dissing the actor or his acting skills, but the makers should have added a different angle to the story than making him a guy, who has just graduated out of college.

Jai and Jaya study in one of the premier institute and in a bid to portray himself as poor, Jai wears a torn check shirt with patchwork to college. Every college has students from all walks of life but no one wears torn shirt with patchwork. It's a little too much to digest. But yes, the patchwork works for the girl, who praises the guy in front of her father for his simplicity. But one thing which Jaya missed and we couldn't was--how come a guy who doesn't have money to buy a new shirt owns a high-end smart phone.

Jai plans to disclose his truth to Jaya, when he proposes her for marriage, just like her father lied about his status to his mother and then proposed her by revealing the truth. But history doesn't always repeats itself and Jai will learn it the hard way.

In the upcoming episode, viewers will see how Jai's plan will go haywire as Jaya's father hates rich people and believes that do jodi kapde aur do waqt ki roti is enough for a person to survive.

Well, if all this is appearing familiar to you, it's not your fault. You have seen this done-to-death storyline in umpteen movies and TV shows. Watch it only if you are a Hussain fan and if you can bear to see him as a college student.
