UP Assembly elections: BJP red-faced over top leaders' comments on Ram temple, Rohith Vemula

The Uttar Pradesh elections are widely seen as a mid-term referendum on the Narendra Modi government, and the BJP will be keen to do well in the ongoing polls. But a couple of the party's best-known faces have been making noises that it may find unpalatable. Vinay Katiyar has questioned his party's resolve to build a grand Ram Temple in UP, and Varun Gandhi has raked up the suicide of Rohith Vemula in January 2016, claiming Vemula's suicide letter made him cry.
