Bengaluru traffic cop carries specially-abled man across flooded road
A traffic constable in Bengaluru helped a differently-abled youth cross a flooded road in Byatarayanapura during heavy rain.

Amid flooded roads and traffic chaos in Bengaluru, one traffic policeman's compassionate act has captured attention online. The officer carried a differently-abled youth across a submerged road after noticing he was struggling to cross.
The incident took place in the Byatarayanapura area on Friday evening, when heavy rainfall left several roads waterlogged and caused major traffic disruptions across parts of the city. As vehicles navigated through the flooded stretch, a differently-abled young man found himself stranded on one side of a busy road, unable to cross safely.
With rainwater accumulating rapidly and traffic continuing to move through the area, the task of crossing the road had become both difficult and risky.
Traffic constable Anil Kumar, who was on duty managing traffic in the rain, noticed the young man's predicament. Realising he needed assistance, the officer immediately stepped forward to help.
Anil Kumar first ensured that traffic slowed down before approaching the youth. Assessing the situation, he decided the safest option was to carry him across the flooded stretch himself.

Despite the heavy rain and challenging conditions, the officer calmly guided him across and helped him reach the other side without incident.
The touching act quickly caught the attention of bystanders and social media users after videos of the moment began circulating online.
Many praised the constable for his compassion, noting that he went beyond his routine traffic duties to help someone in need. Others described the gesture as a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact, particularly during difficult situations.
The incident comes as Bengaluru continues to grapple with heavy pre-monsoon showers that have led to flooding, waterlogging and traffic snarls in several neighbourhoods.
While residents have spent days discussing flooded roads and weather-related disruptions, it was Anil Kumar's simple act of humanity that captured people's attention. For many online, the video was a powerful reminder that public service is not just about managing traffic or enforcing rules — sometimes, it is about recognising when someone needs help and stepping in without hesitation.
