While acts of kindness are often filmed for the internet these days, one woman in Bengaluru quietly went about her morning routine the way she apparently has for years, by stepping outside her home with tea and biscuits for municipal workers, expecting nothing in return.

A heartwarming video shared by Instagram user Jagadish Nadanalli recieved attention online for spotlighting a woman he said had been helping workers, stray animals and even street vendors in her neighbourhood for years without ever seeking attention for it.

According to Jagadish, the woman lived opposite his building, where he has been a tenant for nearly a decade. In the clip, she was seen stepping out of her house carrying a plate stacked with biscuits and a tray filled with cups of tea before walking over to municipal workers in the street.

The workers, dressed in uniforms and busy with their morning duties, were seen accepting the refreshments as the woman warmly interacted with them. The video captured the small but thoughtful exchange, with the woman casually serving tea and biscuits as though it were simply part of her everyday routine.

In the caption accompanying the post, Jagadish pointed out how social media was often filled with videos of people helping the poor, elderly people, auto drivers or roadside vendors while filming the entire process for views or engagement. He admitted that while such content existed, it was often difficult to know how genuine some of it was.

He then contrasted that with the woman in his neighbourhood, whom he described as someone who has quietly helped people for years “without any publicity or intention of earning money, purely for her own inner satisfaction.”

According to him, her generosity extended far beyond offering tea to municipal workers. He claimed that she regularly provided coffee, bread, biscuits and bananas to sanitation staff who came to the area, and on special occasions, even gave them snacks and useful items.

Jagadish also shared that she placed bowls of milk, rice and food outside for stray dogs and cats, which is why animals were often seen waiting outside her home. On the terrace, she kept grains, pulses and water for birds as well.

Beyond that, he described how she warmly spoke to wandering people travelling with cows or calves and treats vegetable sellers, flower vendors and fruit sellers like family. Some, he claimed, stop by her home simply to chat with her, even when they were not selling anything.

“In all these years, I have never seen anyone so dedicated to helping others almost every single day,” he wrote, adding that the fact she did it without expecting recognition made her feel “equal to a great motherly figure.”

The video left many people emotional online, with users praising not only the woman’s quiet generosity but also Jagadish for noticing and documenting kindness that often went unseen.

Several described her as someone making the world a gentler place through small everyday gestures, while others said true peace often came not from wealth, but from sharing whatever little one could with those who might never be able to give anything back.
