A resident of Gurugram has gone viral after posting a sleep-deprived rant about relentless power cuts in the city, triggering a flood of reactions from people across Delhi-NCR who said they were dealing with the same exhausting reality amid the summer heat.

The video, shared on Instagram, captures the man venting about repeated nighttime electricity failures that have disrupted his sleep for nearly a week. Addressing viewers directly, he asks, “Hey guys, can someone tell me what on earth is going on in Gurgaon?”

According to him, electricity has been going out randomly every night for the past five days. “I’ve got a bad habit, man, I simply cannot sleep without the fan running,” he says in the clip, describing how the outages have left him tossing and turning through humid nights.

He also speaks about waking up drenched in sweat due to the heat and unstable power supply. “I never even realise when I actually drift off, and I end up completely drenched in sweat. Even the fan is running while making these weird noises,” he says.

The resident later reveals that the problem is not limited to his locality alone. “I’ve checked around, and apparently, this is happening everywhere,” he adds before sarcastically asking authorities to at least announce the exact timing of outages so people could “schedule” their sleep accordingly.

In perhaps the most telling moment of the video, the man says he had to step into his car just to record the Reel because there was no electricity inside his home. “I actually had to come out to my car just to record this Reel, since there’s absolutely no power at home right now,” he says.

He shared the clip with the caption, “Dear Gurgaon, please explain.”

The video comes at a time when residents across Gurugram have repeatedly complained about severe power cuts amid rising temperatures. Earlier this summer, a major power disruption also affected metro services in parts of Delhi-NCR, forcing some commuters to walk along tracks after trains were halted temporarily.

The viral reel has now sparked wider conversations online around crumbling urban infrastructure, worsening heat conditions, and the growing frustration of residents living in one of India’s biggest corporate hubs.
