Hyderabad family drives at high speed with children in open boot, police reacts
A now-viral video showed children travelling in the open boot of a moving car on Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road. The clip sparked outrage online, and Cyberabad Traffic Police said the matter would be verified.

A video of children travelling inside the open boot of a moving car on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) sparked outrage online, with several social media users raising concerns over road safety and parental negligence.
X user Kunal Singh shared the video on the platform, claiming the family was “cruising at 100+ kmph with kids in the boot holding on to dear life” in Hyderabad.
In the now-viral clip, the person recording could be heard gasping in disbelief as he noticed a moving car with its rear hatch left open while speeding along the road at night.
As the camera zoomed in, several children could be seen sitting precariously inside the open boot space of the vehicle, squeezed together and seemingly holding on while the car continued moving at speed.
The person filming appeared visibly stunned by the sight, audibly reacting in shock as the vehicle drove ahead on the brightly lit highway. The footage showed the car navigating the road while the children remained exposed in the rear compartment, with no visible restraints or safety measures in place.

The bizarre nature of the clip triggered concern online, with several users calling the act extremely dangerous and questioning how anyone could allow children to travel in such risky conditions.
Responding to the viral video, Cyberabad Traffic Police issued a statement under the post, saying: “Sir, the issue has been noted and will be verified. Carrying passengers, especially children, in the boot area of a moving vehicle is highly dangerous and puts lives at serious risk. Necessary action will be taken as per traffic and road safety regulations. We urge all motorists to prioritise safety and travel responsibly.”
The incident also led to conversations around reckless behaviour on Indian roads and the growing number of videos exposing dangerous travel practices.
This is not the first time such negligence has made headlines. Last year, a boy in Bengaluru suffered a serious head injury after striking an overhead barrier while standing through the sunroof of a moving car. The incident had once again highlighted how seemingly casual or “fun” moments inside vehicles can quickly turn life-threatening when basic safety precautions are ignored.
