Students at IIT Bombay turned their final day of lectures into a full-blown spectacle by taking part in a quirky “No Bag Day,” showing up to class with anything but a conventional backpack.

The now-viral video, shared by an Instagram user named Sahil, captured the classroom slowly transforming into a scene of controlled chaos as students entered one after another, each attempting to outdo the last with increasingly creative and bizarre alternatives to carry their books and essentials.

In the clip, the first few entries appeared relatively normal, with some students opting for plastic bags instead of backpacks. But the creativity quickly escalated.

One student was seen riding a bicycle straight into the classroom, using it as a makeshift carrier, while others walked in holding oversized cardboard boxes stuffed with their belongings. A few took a more unconventional route, bringing hangers to suspend their items, while others balanced books precariously on buckets and even chairs, turning everyday objects into improvised “school bags.”

As the line of students continued, the atmosphere inside the classroom shifted from curiosity to laughter, with classmates reacting to each new entry and cheering on the most inventive ideas. The professor, seen briefly in the video, appeared amused by the scene unfolding in front of him, seemingly allowing the students to enjoy the moment on what is effectively their last day of formal lectures.

The video ended on a wholesome note when a stray dog, fondly nicknamed “Pookie” by the students, wandered into the classroom. The animal casually walked in as if part of the celebration, drawing even more laughter and marking a lighthearted, memorable conclusion to the clip.

The video was wholesome enough for viewers to be left praising both the creativity and the sense of camaraderie among the students.

One user observed that the professor looked genuinely happy for his students, suggesting that moments like these reflected a healthy and positive classroom environment.

Another user shared that they wished they had experienced something similar during their own college days, expressing a sense of nostalgia and longing for such carefree, collective memories.

Several others described the group as the “coolest batch,” pointing out that it came down to these spontaneous, rule-bending moments that truly defined the college experience.
