A local standing on the platform quickly noticed what had happened and immediately climbed down into the narrow gap between the train and the platform to retrieve the cloth. He then handed the dupatta back to her before walking away. Indah even offered him her hand to help pull him back up from the tracks, but he politely refused.

Visibly surprised, Indah thanked the man repeatedly before boarding the train again.

A video of the moment was shared on Instagram by Indah and it has now garnered over 52 million views.

Social media users flooded the comments section, with many praising the man’s gesture and the way he handled the situation.

“He risked his life for the dupatta,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “He didn’t have a secret agenda. He didn’t hold her hand. He didn’t glance at her in a creepy way. He just saved the day and walked away like a hero.”

Someone also noticed that, “He quietly picked up the shawl for the girl walking ahead and moved on without expecting even a simple ‘thank you’ in return.”

During her India trip, Indah also visited several popular landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and India Gate.
