A heartfelt video by a man leaving Noida after spending 14 years there has resonated deeply with social media users, especially those grappling with the emotional cost of chasing success in big cities.

Looking back at his journey, he recalled arriving in the city in 2012 filled with uncertainty about whether he would ever find a job. Over the years, however, the same city transformed his life professionally. According to Trivedi, he grew from being a Junior Graphic Designer to eventually becoming a Creative Head.

He also reflected on how dramatically his lifestyle changed during those years. From walking everywhere on foot to owning an SUV, and from designing hoardings to appearing on them, the city became a witness to several milestones in his career.

Yet, amid the professional growth, Trivedi admitted he gradually began feeling emotionally disconnected. Speaking about urban life, he said cities often reduce relationships to convenience, while people remain trapped in endless routines of work, EMIs, and survival in the hope of securing a better future.

One particular interaction stayed with him. Trivedi recalled asking a falooda vendor what he would do first if he suddenly became rich. The vendor’s answer, he said, changed his perspective completely. “I’ll return to my village,” the man replied.

According to Trivedi, that moment made him realise that beyond money and success, many people are simply searching for closeness, familiarity, and the people they love.

He shared the video with the caption, “My biggest flex is returning home after 14 years, new location Kanpur.”

The emotional clip struck a chord online, with many users calling it painfully relatable and reflective of modern city life.
