A graduation speech at Dhirubhai Ambani International School turned into an unexpectedly hilarious moment after a student slipped in a witty reference to Mumbai Indians, leaving even Nita Ambani laughing.

A video from the graduation ceremony of the Class of 2026 has gone viral on social media, largely because of the head boy’s playful jab at the IPL franchise owned by the Ambani family. While graduation speeches are usually packed with emotional reflections and future advice, the student added a dose of cricket humour that instantly won over the audience.

Addressing the gathering, the head boy reflected on the students’ journey through school and the memories they created together. While speaking about life after graduation, he said, “Just like our beloved Mumbai Indians (MI), there will be tough seasons.”

The line immediately triggered loud laughter across the auditorium.

As the crowd reacted, the camera briefly shifted to Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of the school, who was seen laughing and covering her face at the unexpected remark.

The student then continued the speech on a more serious note, saying, “Seasons where nothing seems to go right, where the results do not reflect the effort, where you question everything.”

However, he quickly tied the analogy back to resilience and identity. “But if there is one thing this franchise has taught all of us, it’s that you never forget who you are. You never forget your legacy and you never forget the people standing in your corner,” he added.
