Bihar's 'salon ATM' gets a makeover as SBI removes logo

A former SBI ATM in Bihar's Danapur was turned into a salon while keeping its old kiosk exterior. However, the logo has been removed after the video went viral.

In Bihar's Danapur area, an SBI ATM board hanging outside a kiosk had gone viral. Instead of withdrawing money, the 'salon ATM' was offering haircuts and a beard trim. However, the SBI board and logo was promptly removed after the video went viral.

The unusual setup from the Rupaspur area of Danapur has now gone viral online because, from the outside, the place looked exactly like a functioning State Bank of India ATM. The familiar SBI branding, ATM board and kiosk structure remained untouched, giving passersby absolutely no reason to suspect that the cash machine inside had replaced by grooming services.

The moment people walked in expecting to check their balance or withdraw money, they were instead greeted by salon chairs, mirrors and haircut equipment.

According to local reports, the ATM operated for several years at Usha Villa before being vacated a few months ago. However, while the machine disappeared, the ATM identity apparently stayed behind. The vacant space was later rented out to a salon owner, creating what may be one of the most confusing “ATM experiences” in Bihar right now.

Recent videos show that the SBI board as well as the logo was promptly removed after the video went viral.

The internet, unsurprisingly, had a field day with the story.

Several users joked that customers now go in for “cash withdrawal” and come out with a fade haircut instead. Others laughed about the possibility of people entering urgently to withdraw money only to accidentally book a shave.

Many online users also pointed out how perfectly this captured a very Indian form of jugaad, where old commercial spaces evolve into entirely different businesses while keeping traces of their previous identity intact.
