Watch: Monkey walks into class, interrupts teachers' training at Gujarat university
A monkey wandered into a teachers' census training session at a university in Gujarat. The viral clip amused social media users and led to discussions on the close overlap between daily life and wildlife in the forested region.

A census training session for teachers in Gujarat’s Dang district turned memorable after an uninvited visitor wandered into the classroom, a monkey, locally referred to as a Kapiraj, casually walked into the middle of the session and briefly became the centre of attention.
The unusual moment unfolded during a three-day teacher training programme for census work at Waghai Agricultural University in Waghai, Dang district.
The now-viral clip was shared on Facebook by Gaurang Patel, a teacher at Waghai Secondary School who was attending the training, who confirmed that the incident took place on May 21.
In the video, teachers could be seen seated inside the training hall as the session appeared to be underway. Suddenly, the monkey walked into the room, leaving some teachers visibly startled while others burst into laughter at the unexpected interruption.
The animal appeared calm and unbothered as it moved around the hall, briefly lingering among the attendees.
At one point, several teachers could be seen smiling and looking on curiously as the monkey wandered through the room as though it belonged there. Despite the brief moment of panic among a few attendees, the overall atmosphere soon turned light-hearted, with laughter filling the hall over the bizarre interruption to the otherwise formal training session.

After spending roughly five minutes inside the room, the monkey quietly made its exit and headed back towards the nearby forest area. Patel added that the monkey did not harm anyone during the encounter, nor was it harassed or provoked by any of the teachers present.
Since the time the video was shared online, the clip was circulated on social media, with several users amused by the unexpected “guest appearance” during a government training programme.
Some users also mentioned that the monkey might have arrived to “attend census duty,” while others took it as a sign of how closely daily life in forested regions like Dang often overlapped with wildlife.
