Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today lashed out at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over negligence towards his own security during the Gujarat attack.
Rahul reportedly violated the Special Protection Group (SPG) Act. Rajnath slammed Rahul for taking six abroad trips without VVIP security.
Rajnath asked why was Rahul unwilling to take security and if there was any specific reason that he avoided it.
"Very disappointed with his answer. Instead of answering why a BJP youth a leader threw stone at Rahul, he gave us a diversionary response rambling at length about how he did not take adequate protection. The threat is in the BJP-ruled Gujarat and not in foreign countries," said Sashi Tharoor.
Tharoor added that he did not find Rajnath's comment relevant to the topic under discussion. "A BJP leader in a BJP-ruled state is throwing stone at another leader - is the real question, and to this we did not get a satisfactory answer," Tharoor added.
