US, UK, EU announce new sanctions on Russia for invading Ukraine

US President Joe Biden came down heavily on Russia and announced that "all Russian assets in America will be frozen."

The sanctions target Russian banks, oligarchs, and high-tech sectors, Biden said. The United States and its allies will block assets of four large Russian banks, impose export controls and sanction oligarchs.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom and the European Union have hit Moscow with sanctions to stop military aggression as Russia showed no signs of stepping back.

Russia's Aeroflot was banned from flying to the United Kingdom and Russian diplomats were banned from priority access to the European Union (EU).
