US-IRAN WAR
US-Iran Talks Live: Explosions reported near Bandar Abbas in Iran
US-Israel-Iran Talks Live Updates: Senior Iranian officials Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Doha on Monday for talks with Qatar's prime minister as efforts continued to secure a possible US-Iran agreement aimed at ending the three-month conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The negotiations are currently focused on two major issues -- restoring navigation through the strategically vital waterway and resolving disputes over Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium. However, both Washington and Tehran played down expectations of an immediate breakthrough. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, speaking in New Delhi, said diplomacy would be given every opportunity but warned the US would pursue another way if negotiations failed. US President Donald Trump also stressed that no deal had been finalised and insisted the US naval blockade around Iran would remain in place until a formal agreement was signed. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said progress had been made on several issues but cautioned that the sides were still not close to signing any agreement. The proposed 14-point framework reportedly centres on ending hostilities and reopening the strait. Oil prices dropped sharply on Monday amid cautious optimism over diplomacy. However, major sticking points remain unresolved, including sanctions relief, the release of frozen Iranian assets, Tehran's nuclear programme and regional tensions involving Israel and Hezbollah. Meanwhile, fighting continued in Lebanon, where Israeli forces and Hezbollah exchanged fresh attacks across the border. Follow indiatoday.tech for live updates.
