In a post on X, Modi said, “Received a call from my friend President Donald Trump We are committed to further strengthening our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in all areas.”

He added that both sides discussed regional security challenges, including the need to ensure stability in key maritime routes.

“We also discussed the situation in West Asia and stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure,” Modi said.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor also described the exchange as “a very positive and productive call,” signalling alignment between the two countries on strategic issues.

The conversation comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions, with global powers closely watching developments in West Asia and seeking to secure critical energy corridors.
