Bangladesh people on Thursday voted in the crucial general elections to elect a new government to replace the interim administration, which took charge after the collapse of the Awami League regime in August 2024. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Bangladesh's deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina called elections being held by the interim government "a well-planned farce" and demanded holding of "free, fair and inclusive elections under a neutral caretaker government".
