China's rejuvenation and making America great again can go hand in hand: Xi Jinping

Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the United States delegation during President Donald Trump's visit to China. Xi Jinping stated, "Achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again can go hand in hand." He emphasised that the two nations can help each other succeed and advance global well-being. Reflecting on the history of ping-pong diplomacy, Xi Jinping noted that the door between the two countries was opened fifty-five years ago. He highlighted that he and President Trump had in-depth exchanges on international and regional dynamics. Xi Jinping remarked, "We both believe that the China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. We must make it work and never mess it up." He added that both countries stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation, stating that they should be partners rather than rivals. Xi Jinping proposed a toast to the development, prosperity, and bright future of China-US relations, as well as the health of President Trump.
