Iran allows Indian ships through Strait of Hormuz amid regional war

Iran's Ambassador to India, Mohammad Fatali, confirmed that Tehran has allowed Indian vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing conflict, though he declined to disclose the number of ships permitted, citing security concerns. Speaking at an event, Ambassador Fatali emphasised the historical ties between Iran and India, stating that 'the pain, the Iranians are suffering the same that Indians feel.' He revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's telephone conversation with Iranian President Pezeshkian faced delays due to connectivity issues with Tehran during the war. The ambassador acknowledged Iran is under unprecedented attack, claiming that 165 schoolgirls aged 8 to 12 were killed when their school was hit by Tomahawk missiles, and that 37 Iranian commanders were martyred. He suggested attacks originated from bases in neighbouring countries, specifically mentioning the Arab Emirates, though he refused to confirm details to preserve regional relations. Ambassador Fatali asserted that Iran warned neighbouring countries their assets would not be targeted, but American bases would face consequences.
