World's first underwater datacentre starts operations in China

China now has a datacentre underwater. The new underwater datacentre is located just off the coast of Shanghai and runs on wind energy. The Chinese government says that this datacentre is far more efficient and consumes almost no water compared to traditional land-based datacentres.

Anthropic launches Claude Fable 5, first Mythos class model that you can use

Anthropic has announced the launch of Claude Fable 5, the first Mythos-class AI model that can be used by the general public. The company says that Fable 5 can do exceptionally well in tasks like software engineering, or scientific research, but comes with "hard limits" to avoid potential misuse in cybersecurity or distillation.

US using Mythos for global cyber operations, Anthropic engineers helping on site

The US National Security Agency is reporting using Anthropic's Claude Mythos to plan cyberattacks. The AI startup is believed to have sent at least half a dozen Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to help the agency integrate Mythos. This comes despite the fact that Anthropic has previously had a fallout with the US Pentagon.
