Variant: E3

  • Battery Capacity: 61kWh
  • Power (kW): 128kW
  • Torque (Nm): 189
  • Ex-Showroom Price: Rs 23.60 lakh

Exterior design

The Urban Cruiser EBella adopts Toyota’s ‘Urban Tech’ design philosophy, blending SUV ruggedness with futuristic EV styling cues. While its silhouette shares similarities with the Maruti e Vitara, Toyota has differentiated the SUV with a sharper front-end design featuring a closed-off gloss-black grille, slim LED daytime running lamps and a more muscular bumper design.

The SUV also gets aerodynamic body lines, prominent black cladding, dual-tone exterior colour options, connected LED tail lamps, an integrated rear spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its premium road presence.

Interior design

Inside, the Urban Cruiser EBella offers a black-and-tan dual-tone cabin theme with gloss-black inserts and a layered dashboard layout. Toyota has retained physical controls for several functions to improve usability.

The cabin features a dual-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other highlights include ventilated front seats, ambient lighting with 12 colour options, a panoramic glass roof, sliding and reclining rear seats, JBL premium audio system and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Features and safety

The Urban Cruiser EBella comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package, including seven airbags as standard, Level-2 ADAS, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with auto hold, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

The ADAS suite includes several advanced driver assistance functions along with blind-spot monitoring systems.

The SUV is also expected to inherit strong crash-safety credentials, considering the closely related Maruti e Vitara secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and a 4-star Euro NCAP score.

Battery, range and charging

Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser EBella with two battery pack options globally, though the E3 variant launched in India uses the larger 61kWh unit.

Battery and charging specifications include:

  • 61kWh battery pack
  • 174bhp and 189Nm output
  • Claimed range of up to 543km
  • 7kW AC charging: around 9 hours
  • 11kW AC charging: around 5.5 hours
  • DC fast charging (10-80 per cent): 45 minutes
  • The SUV uses a compact 3-in-1 electric drivetrain integrating the motor, inverter and transmission for improved packaging efficiency.

Ownership benefits and after-sales support

Toyota is offering several ownership-focused initiatives with the Urban Cruiser EBella to address long-term EV ownership concerns. These include:

  • * 8-year battery warranty
  • * Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) options
  • * Assured 60 per cent buyback value after three years
  • * Attractive finance schemes

Rivals

The Urban Cruiser EBella enters a highly competitive electric SUV segment and will rival models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG Windsor EV, upcoming Tata Sierra EV, Maruti e Vitara and the VinFast VF6 and VF7.
