This is the only way to buy the Royal Enfield Classic 500 today and it costs Rs 88,000
The iconic Royal Enfield Classic 500 is no longer on sale, but it hasn't completely disappeared, enthusiasts can still own one today, albeit in a very different form.

If you’ve been dreaming of owning a Royal Enfield Classic 500, here’s the twist, the only way to buy one today is by spending Rs 88,000 on a scale model.
The Classic 500 wasn’t just another motorcycle; it was the model that defined Royal Enfield’s modern-era comeback. Launched in 2009, it revived the brand’s old-school appeal with its long-stroke 499cc single-cylinder engine, signature thump and timeless design. For over a decade, it became the go-to motorcycle for those seeking character over outright performance, and played a crucial role in establishing Royal Enfield’s cult following in India and beyond.
However, its journey came to an end in 2020, when the transition to stricter BS6 emission norms forced the company to discontinue the iconic UCE (Unit Construction Engine) platform. With that, the Classic 500 and its unmistakable exhaust note became a part of history.
Fast-forward to 2026, and the Classic 500 survives only as a collector’s item.
Royal Enfield Apparel has expanded its 1:3 scale Classic 500 model range with two new colour options — Medallion Bronze and Orange Ember — taking the total tally to nine. The miniature is far from a toy; it’s a serious piece of craftsmanship. Built using 964 individual parts and weighing 8.5kg, the model replicates the original motorcycle in impressive detail.
Bookings are open until April 19, 2026, via Royal Enfield’s online apparel store and authorised dealerships, with a booking amount of Rs 5,000.
The remaining seven colour options include Teal Green, Gun Grey, Chrome Black, Maroon Chrome, Battle Green, Black Mirage and Retro White — all inspired by shades that once adorned the real motorcycle.
What makes this even more historic is how the brand has evolved since the Classic 500’s departure. Today, Royal Enfield’s line-up is led by larger, more refined machines like the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, while the Royal Enfield Classic 650 now carries the Classic name forward, priced at Rs 3.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
Yet, despite newer engines and better technology, for many enthusiasts, the Classic 500’s charm and unmistakable thump remain unmatched.
And now, if you want one, you’ll have to settle for a smaller version.
