Lok Sabha polls were not fair, BJP will amend Constitution: P Chidambaram

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, at the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2024, addressed the question of whether the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were not free and fair, Chidambaram said, "Of course, they were not free and fair, how can we fight elections with one or both hands tied behind our backs. 

He further said that their bank accounts were frozen. "There were so many hurdles placed in the way that elections were less than fair and less than free." 

When questioned whether Congress had deliberately spread disinformation that the Constitution was in danger and that the BJP would remove reservations if re-elected after the Lok Sabha polls, Chidambaram responded, "The BJP will amend the Constitution. They were preparing to."
