Covid-19 News: Maharashtra reports 30,535 fresh coronavirus cases, its highest one-day jump since start of pandemic

Maharashtra has registered its highest-ever single-day spike of coronavirus cases on Saturday with 30,535 fresh infections.The fresh jump of over 30,000 cases is the state's highest single-day tally since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 30,535 new cases on Sunday have taken Maharashtra's total caseload to 24,79,682. While the state saw a record spike in cases, it also registered 11,314 recoveries on Sunday after which its recovery rate has reached 89.32 per cent. As on Sunday, 22,14,867 Covid-19 patients have been discharged after full recovery in the state.

Meanwhile, 99 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours have taken the case fatality rate in the state to 2.15 per cent.
