E-Conclave: Important to observe children during these testing times, says child psychologist Shelja Sen

As India continues to combat the coronavirus pandemic, India Today in its first E-Conclave examined the impact of such a crisis on the mental health of children. In the first session India Today's E-Conclave Corona Series, we spoke to child psychologist and writer Shelja Sen about the impact of the pandemic on children.

When asked if such a crisis could leave children traumatised, Shelja Sen said, "I think, we should not use the word traumatise. I think, children are facing adversity. However, I believe children are not passive recipients of trauma. They have amazing skills and ability to cope... But on the other hand, one should be very observant with them -- they might throw tantrums, have bad dreams, fight with siblings, fight with parents, won't get sleep, won't eat etc."

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders.
