South India becomes new Covid epicenter; Dr HS Ballal says lockdown will bring down cases

Due to rising cases of Coronavirus, Southern India is now becoming the new Covid-19 epicenter. Lockdown has been imposed in states of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka's Bengaluru, crematoriums have been burning non-stop due to surge in Covid deaths. The caseload in South India is the fastest now. Top doctors including Manipal Hospitals Chairman Dr HS Ballal, Andhra Pradesh Health Secretary AK Singhal, and Dr Ramasubramanian spoke to India Today's Rajdeep Sardesai on how the South can battle the pandemic. While Dr HS Ballal believes that the only way to flatten the curve in long term is to make sure that everyone gets vaccinated,AK Singhal says that the supply of vaccines from the Centre is not enough to meet the requirements.
