MSc Nursing exam cancelled in J&K minutes before test over OMR mismatch
JKBOPEE cancelled the MSc Nursing entrance examination in Jammu and Kashmir minutes before it was due to begin after discrepancies were found in candidate-specific OMR sheets. The decision upset students, who said the disruption caused stress after months of preparation.

The MSc Nursing entrance examination in Jammu and Kashmir was cancelled just minutes before it was scheduled to begin on Sunday after discrepancies were found in candidate-specific OMR answer sheets during the pre-exam verification process.
According to sources, the issue emerged when officials detected a mismatch in the OMR sheets assigned to candidates during mandatory verification carried out in the presence of senior officials, student representatives, and observers. Following the discovery, the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) decided to cancel the examination.
An OMR answer sheet is typically pre-printed with a candidate’s name, roll number, and photograph to ensure identity accuracy. However, officials said discrepancies were identified during the final checks, prompting the last-minute cancellation.
The board is expected to announce a fresh examination date soon.
The sudden cancellation left students distressed, with many expressing anger over the disruption. Students said the decision caused inconvenience and mental stress, especially after months of preparation.
A total of 513 candidates were scheduled to appear for the examination, including 438 from the Kashmir division and 165 from the Jammu division.
The students have urged authorities to ensure greater accuracy and avoid such administrative errors in future examinations
